Sorry to say...
I've decided that I'm going to focus all of my comic-making time on starting The Garden up again.
The amount of work that I would have to do to coax a narrative out of After Lily just doesn't seem worth it when I have a fully developed story already waiting for me. I may come back to After Lily, just as I'm returning to The Garden now, and hopefully, by then, it will be a more developed and complete as a story.
I know it sucks that I'm ending it in the middle of a chapter, but if I had gone any further it would have entered major cliffhanger territory, and to cut it off there would be even worse.
I wish I could say something to make this less painful. It's been great while it lasted, and I really feel like I've improved a lot, but for now at least, it's time to move on.

This makes me very disappointed, and I suppose I should tell you why, whether you care or not is for you to decide.
After Lily was a genuinely astounding fantasy, pulling away from pop-culture and the pushing forces of our media and creating something beautifully dark in plot and humor. Honestly, I'd mostly given up on the web comic "genre" so to speak, because let's face it. They're all the same, and they're all boring. I found After Lily by the slip of a finger from someone else's site. It gave me a flicker of joy for a plot that was amusing and cute. And I at one point even sent you fan art, and let me tell you I never do that.
The point is this: After Lily was a genuine joy, I waited impatiently for updates every day of the week, all circumstances. This development may seem necessary to you, and if so I understand that, but I implore you to rethink your judgement and whenever possible please do return.
